The process is to "rip" individual song tracks, from various CDG discs, to your computer's hard drive and then burn them to a blank CD-R. Both of these programs work with "most" modern burners.

    For copying a CDG disc, or creating a custom compilation CDG disc, software like Microstudio or Power CD+G Burner will work with "most" modern burners. To play CDG discs on your computer you will need a burner that is capable of reading CDG subchannel data.

    The easiest way is to download and install a demo copy of Power CD+G Burner to test it out.

    With the Power CD+G Burner software you can easily "rip" the song tracks from CDG disc to MP3+G files. If done while connected to the internet the song files can be automatically named utilizing FreeDB internet database. This program works with "most" modern burners.

    MP3+G files are conpressed versions of karaoke CD+G disc song tracks much like MP3 files are compressed versions of standard audio tracks. Each MP3+G song consists of two files, one .mp3 and one .cdg. which are often "zipped" together into a single .zip file to make them easier to manage. This is the default format supported by virtually all software karaoke players and hosting applications.

    Very few karaoke disc players will play MP3+G files from a disc. Many of the newer machines will play MP3+G files from SD cards and/or USB devices.

    MP3+G is not a video format. Video files cannot be converted to MP3+G.

    A karaoke hosting application is a program used to host karaoke shows. It has features like singer rotation, singer history, extended desktop, song search, etc., that are not typically found it basic karaoke file playing software.

    Super CDG disc are DVD discs tha contain compressed karaoke song tracks. You can easily duplicate these discs with software like CloneDVD.

    Power SCDG Ripper will "rip" the song tracks from Super CDG discs to MP3+G or BIN files.

    This allows you to use the laptop's extended desktop (in display settings) to display the workstation on the laptop while displaying the karaoke (lyrics) on a separate monitor or TV.
